| Broken window was only man using his head |

LE CENTER – On Jan. 28 at 1:48 a.m. the Le Center Police Department received a report of a broken window at Deb’s Trim and Tannery. Upon arrival, the responding officer met with a man who said he fell and struck the window. The man sustained a one-inch cut below his right eye, but refused medical attention.
The department cut to the chase during a number of other incidents that week.
Jan. 23
• Police received word of a 911 hang-up call from the school at 1:10 p.m. An officer determined there was a basketball tournament going on at the time and kids may have been playing with the phone.
• Police received a driving complaint from the Cenex station at 4 p.m. An officer located the vehicle southbound on County Road 11 but was unable to observe any unusual driving conduct. The report was forwarded to the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Department.
Jan. 24
• The department received a report of a child about 4 years old at Casey’s General Store with no shoes or coat. The responding officer learned the child’s mother had picked him up. The incident is still under investigation.
Jan. 25
• Police received a report of two chocolate labs at large at Casey’s General Store. The officer recognized the description of the dogs and contacted the dogs’ owner who picked them up.
• At 11:57 a.m. police received a report of a missing 17-year-old female. She last spoke with her mother on Jan. 23 and said she was going to a friend’s residence in Waterville. When her mother contacted the Waterville residence, she learned her daughter never arrived. The subject was later located in Waseca.
Jan. 27
• Police received a report of a two-vehicle accident at 8:02 p.m. A vehicle slid on the ice and collided with a car parked on Lanesburg St.
Jan. 28
• At 1:38 p.m. a black lab was reported at large in the area of Cordova Ave. and Minnesota St. The dog was wearing a blue collar with tags. An officer located the dog on Tyrone St. but the dog ran off and the officer was unable to catch it. At 10:30 a.m. the department had also received a report of a dog running east of Le Center on State Highway 99 about a mile and a half outside of town. The officer was unable to locate the dog.
• Police received an anonymous report at 10 p.m. of loud music and a possible juvenile party on the 100 block of S. Maple Ave. The music was off when the police arrived. One juvenile was present at the scene, but wasn’t drinking. No other calls were received concerning the report.v
