McCoy Benjamin-James was the name given to the infant son of Tyler and Terri Jo Helland of Glencoe. McCoy was born on June 17, 2010 and weighed 8lbs. 2 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long.
Grandparents are Ben and Gloria Schuft of Stewart and Ken and Denise Helland of Le Center. Great-grandparents are Keith and Eilene Davidson of Emmons.
The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) has announced its Deans List for Spring Semester 2010. Students in the area on the Dean’s List are: From Cleveland - Scott D Krueger, College of Liberal Arts.
From Le Center - Kaitlyn E Sexe, Labovitz School of Bus & Econ;
The following students have been named to the Minnesota State University Moorhead dean’s list. Kayla Braun of Le Center was named to the Dean’s list. Her majors are; Speech/Language/Hearing Science, Speech-Language Pathology. MSU Moorhead, has an enrollment of 7,480.
Naomi Blaschko of Le Center, graduated from Concordia University, St. Paul, during the commencement ceremony held on Saturday, May 15, in Concordia’s Gangelhoff Center. Blaschko graduated with a master of arts degree in Organizational Management.
On June 17th Brad Walechka left for the summer to complete his AIT program for the Army. He was flown to Maryland. He will be at Aberdeen Proving Ground. We have received some phone calls from Brad since he arrived there. He has had extra free time for the first week while getting assigned to quarters. Tomorrow on Monday, he starts his classes and of course more physical training. He said his group will have the night shift of classroom instruction. That’s when they get finished about 2am every morning. He is looking forward to getting mail from from his classmates, friends and relatives. He shouldn’t be mailed large packages or food & candy. Hayden Kathryn was the name given to the newborn daughter of John and Tara (Anderson) Vig at her baptism on Sunday, June 13, at St. Mary’s in Le Center. Father Chris Shofer officiated. Godparents are Christian and Denell Anderson. Hayden was born at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park on April 28, 2010. She is the granddaughter of Grant and Kathy Anderson of Le Center and John and Kathy Vig Sr., of Shakopee.
Mara Marie VonBank was the name given to the infant daughter of Steve and Jamie (Goettl) VonBank of Le Center.
Mara was born on June 16, 2010 at Queen of Peace Hospital. She weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. and was 19 inches long. She was welcomed home by big brother Brayden, 13 months.
Grandparents are Teresa and Greg Goettl of Le Center and Karen and Steve VonBank Sr. of New Prague. Great-grandparents are RoseMary VonBank of New Prague, Joe and Bernice Meger of Belle Plaine, Roger and Sandy Goettl of Le Center and Eleanor Hogan of Waterville.
Justin B. Jerdee was named to the North Dakota State University’s spring dean’s list. He is majoring in English. |
