Caring trees helpful
The summer is progressing, and school supplies are already on display in a lot of stores.

Back-to-School clothing sales are already beginning. While you are out shopping for your family don’t forget to pick up a card off one of the Caring Trees.

The local PTO have trees up at The First National Bank, First State Bank, Radermacher’s and ABC Office Supply. On those trees are a number of items needed in the classrooms. One of the tough cuts the school board had to make was to supplies the teachers use. You can help fill this need when you purchase an item from the Caring Tree.

The school board will be deciding within the next couple of weeks what they will be asking for in the way of an operating levy.

Before you make your decision on November 2nd invest sometime in getting the facts. The school board members are more than willing to answer any questions you might have. There will be a number of community meetings between now and November 2nd to hear the facts and to ask your questions so watch for those upcoming announcements.

Numbers are still coming in for the Le Sueur County Relay For Life. What is known is there were 28 teams. Of those seven teams were at the Bronze Level (raised $2,500), two were at the silver level (raised $5,000) and one was a the gold level (raised $7,500). The committee was expecting more teams to reach the Bronze level as a few teams were very close. The committees goal was to raise $90,000 and the committee thinks they will be very close to reaching that goal.
