For many wrestlers, the wrestling season lasts from the end of November to the beginning of March, but two local wrestlers extended their wrestling season by competing in the Schoolboy National Duals tournament June 10-13 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Josh Selly, Le Center, and Mason Brownlee, Montgomery, were invited to be on the 2010 MN/USA Schoolboy team. The MN/USA wrestling organization selects wrestlers, ages 13-14, from across the state to represent Minnesota and compete against other states in the Greco and Freestyle National Duals Tournament. Thirty different states brought teams to this year’s tournament.
Team Minnesota placed second in the Greco-Roman portion of the tournament and third in the Freestyle portion.
During the four-day tournament, Selly had a record of 9-5 , and Brownlee had a record of 16-5.
